Head Cleaner – Job Description
Position Overview:
The Head Cleaner is responsible for ensuring the property is maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness and presentation. This includes overseeing daily cleaning operations, managing laundry duties, and maintaining supplies and cleaning schedules to ensure a welcoming environment for all guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain all guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas to a high standard.
- Oversee and coordinate the daily cleaning schedule to ensure all rooms are ready for check-in on time.
- Handle all laundry operations, including washing, drying, folding, and storing linens and towels.
- Inspect rooms and public areas regularly to ensure quality and cleanliness are consistently maintained.
- Manage cleaning supplies and inventory; report shortages or maintenance issues promptly.
- Train, supervise, and support other cleaning staff (if applicable).
- Ensure cleaning equipment is properly used, maintained, and stored safely.
- Follow all health, hygiene, and safety standards in accordance with policies.
- Assist with special cleaning tasks (e.g., deep cleaning, seasonal cleaning) as required.
- Report any lost or damaged items immediately to management.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning, preferably in hospitality.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Trustworthy, reliable, and able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Flexibility to work weekends or public holidays as required.
